A Coaching Practice From a Business Leader

There is a natural relationship between Branding & Leadership Coaching

Time for a little story, from our Founder, Minal Kamlani:

Imagine me running a high-stakes brand workshop for a pharmaceutical client before the whole GLP-1 craze. During lunch, the marketing lead sat beside me and asked, “How did you choose to consult something ‘unsexy’ like diabetes?” Bold choice of words. But I did work for an ad agency.

I told him straight up—both my parents are diabetic, and I’ve seen how it affects not just families but entire communities. I wanted to drive real change in this space, especially for underserved groups. Then I smiled and asked a somewhat open-ended question, "What drew you to all of this?”

What started as a casual lunch chat (over terrible catering) quickly became an enthusiastic conversation about careers, purpose, and values. We went from small talk to an impromptu coaching session. He admitted that while he’d mastered managing brands, he lost touch with why he got into the pharmaceutical field in the first place. Through discussing his purpose and values, I planted the seeds to explore how the brand could renew itself from a place of greater purpose.

When we reconnect with the why behind what we do, it doesn’t just change how we work—the outcome often has a domino effect on others. And sometimes, that shift may happen in an impromptu chat over rotten sandwiches.
